The Annual Church Planting Conference at Heartland Baptist Bible College was completed last week. It has become the highlight week of the year there at HBBC. Large crowds gathered daily Tuesday through Thursday to hear outstanding preaching from God’s servants, and to learn of needs that about 75 church planters presented. The giving spirit was electrifying as funds were committed for each who gave some details of their work and needs.
Still more will be coming in, since a number of these church planters were asked to come to present their needs to congregations of some of the pastors who were there. When the giving for the week was totaled, it came to an astounding figure of over half a million dollars for the planting of independent Baptist churches like ours! In addition to the total in immediate offerings of $511,053.00, there was nearly $10,000 per month committed in monthly support for these church planters.
Our own Temecula Spanish Baptist Church pastor, Salvador Carillo was able to present a need for a building and saw some $12,000.00 raised toward that need. Our thanks to all of you who gave in our Christmas offering and afterward so we could be part of this giving endeavor! Let’s bear these blessings in mind as we move toward our annual Missions Commitment Sunday next month. There is assuredly no greater investment you can make.
