Missionary Bob Walker used to be a painter here in Santa Ana, but his whole life changed when a Christian told him about the Gospel and he got saved. It wasn’t a pastor or a “professional” who witnessed to him. It was someone who cared.
When “Bob the painter” got saved, his friend gave him four instructions:
1. Read your Bible every day.
2. Pray every day.
3. Find a Bible-preaching church to join.
4. Tell someone else about your faith in Christ just like I told you.
He didn’t know any better, so he just started reading his Bible and praying every day! When he attended the closest church to him (Bethel Baptist Church in Santa Ana), he got baptized and was ALL IN.
We recently had our Open House Sunday, and we as a church tried to fulfill our Great Commission (see Matthew 28:18–20). There’s a “Bob the painter” everywhere you look. This world needs to know the love of Jesus Christ, and we have the message of truth for the world.
Did you proclaim the Gospel last week? Will you pray to God for opportunities to declare it this week?
Our next major event is our Scrooge Christmas play, which will be an excellent opportunity for guests to hear the Gospel preached and illustrated through the story. Matthew 5:14 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.”
Let’s shine of Jesus Christ the light this Fall and Winter!
