Lee, the legal editor and an investigative journalist for the Chicago Tribune, once said, “The mere concept of an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving creator was absurd on the surface of it.”
His wife had converted to Christianity, and, as an atheist, he felt that he had to disprove her newfound faith. Lee used his legal and journalistic training to uncover the “myths” surrounding Jesus of Nazareth, yet, the more he researched, the more he became convinced that the resurrection of Jesus must have really happened.
After two years of extensive research, Lee Strobel said, “I became personally convinced that based on the historical evidence of the Resurrection, that this is actually true.”
He gave his life to Jesus Christ, quitting his job and taking a sixty-percent pay cut to become a pastor and an outspoken advocate for Christianity. God had completely changed his life from one of alcoholism and family problems to one of peace and joy.
Strobel went on to write several best-selling books, one of which was turned into a movie called The Case for Christ, which is the story of his conversion from atheist to Christian.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is THE turning point of history. I know, I know… that’s just a Christian pastor’s opinion…
But it’s not my opinion alone! If Lee’s story means anything, it tells us we can do our own investigation, and the conclusions are weighty!
My friend, if you are “on the fence” about Jesus, I’d love to introduce him to you today. It’s a great life, serving Jesus, and I invite you to hear him today.
