I can’t believe this is the last Sunday in April… time for your checkup!
If we are not diligent about spiritual growth, life happens on default and nothing of eternal value is accomplished. Spiritual growth must happen intentionally. You must be the one who walks worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called. You must be the one who takes the spiritual steps.
At the beginning of the year, we said that our theme was “Grow in Knowing Jesus.” After four months, do you know him better now than you did in January? Here are a few tips to not let the next four months happen on default:
1) Read your Bible every day. Commit to it now, and keep it up for 120 days.
2) Be a doer of the Word, not a hearer only (James 1:22). Last Sunday night in James, we were reminded that life is a vapor. It’s far too short to waste, so make a plan every time the Bible is opened.
3) Attend Sunday school. Every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. is another great opportunity to grow in knowing Jesus better. Take advantage of God’s gift of the church’s teachers (see Eph. 4:11).
4) Enroll in Ladies Bible Study. More details coming soon, but this will be a weekly Bible study this summer with meeting options either the day or night.
5) Enroll in Bible Institute Classes. The Faith Bible Institute enrollment is coming next month, and classes begin in the Fall.
Jesus is the truth. Living a life of truth means following Jesus day by day. Let’s grow together in knowing Jesus better! God bless you. -Pastor Ryan
