Last week, we talked about the presence of God. He was moved by the praises of His people in 2 Chronicles 5. Not in a “break down my Jericho walls” sense, as if we control God through our praises, but in the sense of responding to His children in love.
Then, the glory of God came to earth in the form of man—Jesus Christ—yet when He ascended back to heaven, He baptized this world in the Holy Spirit as He promised He would in John 14. Now, the Holy Ghost is in you. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
And when we gather together, the Holy Spirit is here! God’s church is the temple now, and the people of God should be marked by the presence of God. “God is in you!” said the man in 1 Corinthians 14.
Could someone walk in today and say the same thing? “God is here!”
We’ve been talking all year about the temple of God not just being a building. We’re almost debt free as a church, but it’s not about our nice facilities.
It must be about GOD. That’s what Solomon understood in 2 Chronicles 6 and 1 Kings 8. Let’s praise God today like He’s really here.
