HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I’m always amazed how things “just work out” in our home. I stand back after a successful vacation, for example, and say, “Phew, that worked out great!”
Meanwhile, the one who made it “just work out” has been actively working for months behind the scenes. You may think I’m being spiritual and talking about God. Well, yes, He makes it all work out, of course. But, really, I’m talking about my wife! She’s the one that magically makes it all “just work out.”
Many Psalms talk about mothers and child-rearing:
Psalms 127
1 Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
Psalms 128:3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
Psalms 144:11-12 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:
I’m so thankful for my wife, my mom, and all the wonderful mothers of our church. Talk about cutting it close… we have a box of books arriving from Amazon today—so if it gets here in time, each lady will get the brand new EZEKIEL ladies’ devotional from our very own Calvary Baptist Publications!
However, if it arrives after church… you’ll have to get yours later! God bless you and HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
