We announced last week that the Saldanas will be pursuing a church planting internship in San Diego starting in January. It has been so exciting to see God’s hand on this transition process, but it is also really sad to think of not having the Saldanas as a part or our church family anymore!
Not only is it sad, it is leaving a huge gap to fill, but I believe this allows you to step in and help out in new ways. Here are a few areas where I’ve been praying God would raise up some servants.
WEEKLY LAWN CARE
This summer, Immanuel was here multiple days every week to volunteer his time keeping up on the lawns. We also hired Alex Román part time before he went to college, and we had our summer intern Bro. Tim on the lawns. Bro. Christian and Bro. Zack were out there all the time too, and ALL of them will either be gone or scaling back.
I’m praying for two people to come every week and mow, edge, trim the hedges, blow off the sidewalks, and adopt our lawns as their personal ministry. It may not seem very glorious, but the beautiful grounds are the first thing that people notice when they walk up to our church, and it makes an impression on guests about the rest of the service. This IS important!
REGULAR MAINTENANCE
With 20,000 square feet of facilities, something is always breaking. I am praying for one organized person to coordinate the needs and a team of volunteers who can fix the stuff.
VIDEO EDITING
Whether you have video editing experience or not, I am praying for a volunteer to edit our weekly YouTube videos. Bro. Zack edits them now, but if he is eventually going to be working with the youth, his time to edit videos will be limited. The system is in place and Bro. Zack can train someone who’s willing to learn and be held to the standards of excellence we are striving for.

SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS
If you are on social media already, maybe God would have you volunteer to oversee our church social media pages once Mrs. Sarah moves.
This would require:
Multiple posts every week on a few platforms (mostly Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube)
Taking/gathering photos of church events
Weekly sermon clips (we use an online tool that makes this very simple)
Monitoring comments
YOUTH ACTIVITIES
This next season of youth ministry will be a wonderful time for many parents and other church members to be involved with our teens, particularly with youth activities. Whether it’s driving them to youth rallies, cooking a meal for a fellowship at church, or hosting people at your home, the youth of any church must stay connected to the whole church.
These are just the areas we can think of right now. We don’t know what else will show up once they leave, so please stay available and willing to serve.
WHO CAN VOLUNTEER?
These are positions for men or women from teens on up. Church membership is required for any regular leadership positions (e.g. youth ministry), but not for most service opportunities (e.g. lawn care).
HOW CAN I SIGN UP?
You can let me know if any of these positions sounds like something God would have you do.
