Even if you are not able to go to camp tomorrow, please pray.
All of us should be praying for camp. An intensive week of Bible preaching will be good for ALL of us. It will be good to get away, have some fun, and get under the preaching for a while.
This year will be especially cool as we are adding a couple other churches. First Baptist of Long Beach is bringing about 40 campers, we have about 30 and Liberty has about 15. This will be an amazing camp!
Are you ready? Are you like Keli and have your stuff packed already (like, for two weeks!!)? Are you ready to get doused by ice water from me? Are you ready to get an ugly picture of you drawn in sidewalk chalk? Are you ready?
Ok… more serious than that… are you ready, spiritually? Isaiah says, “Wash you. Make you clean.” (Is. 1:16-17) I love that. We talked about it briefly on Wednesday night. Are you planning on cleansing yourself (spiritually) before going to camp, so that from night #1 you are able to hear from God?
We tried to pray on Wednesday for camp. We spent time asking for God’s help, His protection, His guidance, His speaking and more. We asked for a good week, for Him to lead Bro. Gaddis, and for cleansing from sin. But if you’re relying on our group prayer to be your prayer life, you are spiritually weak right now.
Pray tonight. Pray tomorrow. Pray throughout next week. Pray personally, not just in a group. Talk to the Father. Get close to Him. Speak with Him like a friend and like a mentor. Love God. Love others. Do right.
