I love volunteers! Without volunteers, junk just sits around. No joke.
Last week I finally had a little bit of disposable time and got through some old projects. Normally my time feels somewhat, well, constrained, like I’m a bad person if I am 2 weeks ahead on my planning. I literally had papers on my desk that were nearly 2 years old, waiting to be noticed and loved. Now, with Ms. Sarah working daily and the interns taking a huge load off, I am able to focus on a few more little things.
Like choir! Woo hoo!
Choir is almost entirely volunteer-run. Mrs. Sarah Thompson has always distributed the announcement sheets well, and Mrs. Carla and Bro. Paul Colin have attacked the organization of that crazy closet. Every week, new songs get taken out and put away. Without a lot of work—organizing the songs in alphabetical order, arranging them in numerical order, and tracking who’s missing what—it would be madness in that closet. Sunday’s always coming, so that means we’re always going to be churning through the music. It takes a lot of work to keep up!
In addition, Cassi has been volunteering at the church 2 days a week, and she has been spending hundreds of my music budget dollars getting us up to 50 purchased copies of every piece of music we have. That’s a HUGE job!
Also, Lexi has come in almost every Wednesday for months and has helped in the music closet. She reorganized every song into numerical order and wrote notes on who was missing what. Now… he he he… you can’t get away. If your number is missing, it will show up as a gap in the numbers! Uh oh!
The point is, we are catching up, and hopefully getting ahead, some! This summer has been a very productive time for us, and with all else going on, I promise that choir is not the forgotten ministry. J In fact, you are near the top of the list. But only because of volunteer help. Thank you all!
