Over the course of last year through the Sunday morning offerings, our class raise about $250 for the church planters. Last week at the Church Planters Conference at Heartland in Oklahoma City, I was able to give it all away. It went fast!
I looked at my envelope on Wednesday morning and counted the $20 bills that we got from the ATM. One, two, three, four, five. That’s all that’s left?! I got so excited about giving to every guy I could…I ran out of money!
Truly, miracles still happen. A bunch of poor Baptists got together and gave away over $400,000 in three days! Plus, they committed a combined $10,000 per month to various church plants all over America. It was incredible.
And you had a part in it.
Seriously! Even though most of you were not able to go to the conference this year (except for Alisha, Sarah and Michael C.), you were still able to have a part in it by giving. Isn’t that what Bro. Tomlinson emphasized last week? That—practically speaking—the bulk of Christians will not be called to go, but only to give.
If you ever gave any amount—even if it was only $1—you had a part in the Church Planting Conference. You were one small sliver of the miracle that God performed.
The best part about God’s work is that no one knows who the givers were. GOD gets all the glory. Nobody marked their dollar bill when they put it in the offering and said, “Whoever this goes to, I want them to know that I put it in the offering!” Nope.
When God gets the credit, life is so much better. Thank you for your involvement. I love you all, and I was proud to represent you at the conference last week. I wish you could have been there. Maybe next year…
