The antics and hysterics of children joining in absenting themselves from school for protests, was what the media thought it important to cover last week. These youngsters screamed and cried as some of them gave impassioned hysterical speeches on how the world will soon end from “global warming.”
It is inconceivable to anyone of even average intelligence, that some of our political leaders and most of the media consider the extremist views of children whose total life experience amounts to 12 or 13 years, to be valid and accurate views. Of course, these children, being used by leftist leaders to advance their agenda, got their errant and misinformed views in their public-school classrooms.
Expressing their collaboration with the protests, Students at Union Theological Seminary, a Bible-denying leftist college in New York, held a ceremony. Such angst about the “ruin of the environment” was running amuck in the small student body that the school dedicated a room for those grieving students to use. They spread dirt on the floor, filled the space with various potted plants, and then sat yoga-style in front of the plants with a microphone, confessing their “sins against the plants” and asking the plants for forgiveness.
The facts are quite different from what is popular to the hysterical left. First, God is in control of the weather, not mankind. Job 37:15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine? 16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge? 17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind? Secondly, the earth does have an end, but it is in God’s time and in His control.
Since the time of Noah’s flood, the climate has experienced cycles of warming periods and cooling periods. These facts have evidence far more substantial than the wild conjectures we hear so much of now. Timemagazine, Newsweek and other periodicals have published contradicting stories in the past 40-50 years, which were at the time, supported by “scientific authorities.” In the 70’s we were told the globe was cooling and would reach the point where crop production would drop drastically, with the prospect of mass starvation! (see Newsweek April 28, 1975) Now, we are promised the warming trend will also end in disaster!
The conclusion; too much of science had instead become “political science.” The best science book is the Word of God. This you can trust and not be embarrassed like those whose religious “scientific” beliefs are later proven false.
