In a couple of weeks, my family will be flying to Oklahoma to be a part of the Missions Revival at Bible Baptist Church of Stillwater, OK. God used their church to help train us in church ministry, but back then, I knew a lot already—I’m sure I knew more back then than I know now! I was a green, green, green Bible college graduates and a newlywed, and God used that church’s missions program to help train me through some initial bumps and bruises of learning. They trained me, and just about the time that the lessons were starting to sink in, we moved here—before we ever got useful there!
I appreciate their missions program—it’s all about benefiting people outside of their church—and our missions program is similar. Whether it’s foreign missions or Bible colleges or the internship programs, all of our missions dollars are spent outside of our church.
We need to keep praying for those missionaries, interns, and Christian workers. Our staff has been working on a new missionary prayer booklet that shares our missionary details— names, pictures, birthdays, and more—and I would like us to continue the spirit of our missions revival by committing to pray for our missionaries. They are working on the front lines and are often very lonely, and God is using these missionaries in mighty ways. The few that we had at our missions revival last week showed us the great work that is all around the world.
Pray for missionaries, and pray for the work of missions.
Matthew 28:18–20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
