For some years now, we have taken a special Christmas offering, which we use to give to church planter’s families in January, at the Heartland Baptist Bible College Church Planter’s Conference. We do lots of giving in this season of giving, but a Christmas offering to the Lord gives us a sense of what Christmas is all about.
It is the time of year we recognize God’s great gift to us, the coming into the world of our Saviour. All our giving to every person, every cause, every church, every missionary endeavor, could not touch the cost of the gift our God gave us in giving His only begotten Son.
We have a five-Sunday month to finish out our 2017, so, we will have the Special Christmas Offering envelopes in the bulletin for these last three Sundays if you want to participate. Due to your generous and sacrificial giving last year, we were able to help about 30 church planters and their families, with about $4000.00 you gave, to divide among them.
Our church, along with many others like ours, gave support and help to about 100 of these young families who were representing new independent Baptist churches across America, in last January’s meeting. It’s quite a sight to see. You might want to go, but if you aren’t able to, parts of the 3-day meeting are to be live-streamed so you can get a taste of it. We’ll provide details on that soon.
