Darwin readily admitted that the lack of transitional species in fossils was strong evidence against evolution. Specifically, he called the profound lack of transitional flowering plant fossils “an abominable mystery.” This problem is of course far more obvious today, since there are countless more fossil discoveries, and still no “transitions.” To continue to believe in the religion of evolution despite the growing mountain of factual evidence against it seems to me to be the more “abominable mystery!”
The main evolutionary problem with the fossil record, as the evolutionist would see it, is fully formed organisms appear to have developed suddenly, and then stayed the same for millions of years! Fossils of creatures which were supposed to have lived millions of years ago, are remarkably the same as their counterparts of today.
