The leadership in the California teachers unions seem to be dominated by many with extreme leftist views. I saw a recent magazine put out by the California Teacher’s Association. I couldn’t find one article promoting any practical teaching aid or idea. There were several articles promoting greater gun ownership restrictions. Climate change and animal rights had space given to them. The publication was filled with articles representing one point of view; that of the extreme liberal left.
There was an extensive article pressuring all teachers in the association to vote for Democratic Socialist candidate for Governor, Gavin Newsom. It’s hard to get to the left of Jerry Brown, but Gavin does it with aplomb. Another article promoted a video that the Association is pressuring all elementary schools to use in their youngest children’s classes. The video provoked children to question their birth gender, and to consider identifying as something else. It was nothing but the extremist propaganda drivel espoused by the confused antichristian leftists, but nonetheless, it will be taken seriously by too many teachers.
Those teachers who hold traditional, conservative and Christian values are entirely unrepresented by these powerful leftist unions, especially here in California, but also, to some degree, across the country. Is it any wonder that California, despite billions spent on the Public education bureaucracy, is near the bottom year after year in state school test scores? Too little goes into teaching and way too much goes into the “social engineering” being done by domineering people with political agendas.
Note to the Governor, the Legislature, and the Public School Unions – Children are not “wards of the State.” They belong to God, and have been given in charge to their parents to determine their guidance and direction.
